Foram, Cresa mark lease at new tower to law firm


MIAMI - Bilzin Sumberg Baena Price & Axelrod LLP has signed a 10-year, 115,000sf lease in Brickell Financial Centre’s Phase One tower. The 1.5 msf, two-phase project is bringing more than 1 msf of Class A office space, a five-star hotel, more than 30,000sf of high-end retail and a large, newly landscaped plaza to Miami’s financial corridor.

Danet Linares, senior vice president and director of real estate services for Foram Group, handled the transaction on behalf of the landlord. CresaPartners’ Barbara Liberatore Black, vice chair and founding principal, and Matthew Goodman, senior vice president, represented the tenant. Janis Cheezem of Akerman Senterfitt was the attorney representing the landlord in this transaction, and John Kuhn of Bilzin Sumberg represented the law firm.

Bilzin Sumberg’s lease marks a 30,000sf expansion for the firm and will occupy more than 15% of Brickell Financial Centre’s first tower, 680 Brickell Ave. The deal is the largest lease agreement signed in the Downtown Miami/Brickell office market this year.

Foram Group anticipates the Green, 601,379sf, 40-story office tower will open its doors in January 2010. The second phase promises a 68-story, mixed-use tower that includes ground floor retail, office space and a 300-room hotel.
